This came out to about 11” so I think I will add a round in a contrasting color before I assemble the afghan. I really like this pattern. It was simple to work but still a bit challenging and I really like the way it looks. I will use this square a lot, I think.
I was not real excited about this square when I first saw it. I just didn’t really like the look but once I got through the first set of TRCs I was hooked (no pun intended). This was really fun to work on, the pattern is just unusual enough to be interesting without being difficult. In the end I really like the way it looks, too. I kind of wish I had used an I instead of a J hook but the size is pretty good - right on 6” or maybe a hair over. My square is not perfectly flat but I think that it will be ok once I stitch it to others.
This pattern was a little tricky to interpret. I was grateful for the chart, I don’t think I would have figured it out with the chart. I wish I had made it more colorful but I am reasonably happy with the way it came out. It was not too difficult but I think the 3-dimensional heart makes it look kind of impressive.
